A lot of you may know that I work in a sales environment. I also look for people who may want to do the same and earn some very high affiliate commissions.
A woman had left a message on my 800# indicating that she is only working 24 hours a week and doesn’t have the money required to get involved with my primary business. In essence, she was asking for some ideas that would not require an investment yet could provide some commissions for her and her family.
Well, I thought about the question for a while before I called her back.
A Home Business Requires Investment
The image at the top of the blog shows that sales makes money. That’s the way our whole economy works, isn’t it? In order for people to make some money, something has to be sold.
Most sales efforts on the Internet or from a home business require the entrepreneur to invest in their business.
You can relate to this idea when you think about the businesses you see on the street. Consider franchises like McDonalds, Burger King, and other store front businesses. Even places like Goodwill, the Salvation Army thrift store and those types of businesses require major investments.
How Do You Make Money Without Any Money to Invest?
The Internet levels the “playing field”, so to speak. This is where the man or woman who wants to work from home, has as much of an advantage as the big corporation. It doesn’t take a lot of money to put together an attractive website to sell your product. You’ve heard those thoughts before, haven’t you?
So back to the lady’s question left on my 800#. Here is what was running through my mind.
- To make money, you have to sell something to earn a commission.
- If you sell a product, you should believe in that product yourself.
- There are products available all over the Internet that will pay commissions.
- Where could I recommend a product to this lady that I could trust?
- After she chooses a product, she will need to get information to the public.
- If she doesn’t have money for advertising, where can she advertise?
- “They” say you need to have a “list”. Can she start one without cash?
- How do I build a list from scratch?
- How can I help this lady get started?
Well, you can see there were a lot of things going through my mind in order to help. I called her back and gave her some ideas. I’ll go over a thorough discussion of how to get started without an investment over the next few blog posts. Here’s where the thought process took me.
Find People Who Are Looking for Affiliates
First, you need to find something that you can be passionate about. You hear lots of people talking on the Internet about finding a niche. In simple terms, find something you can be passionate about.
Here’s an example. One of my sons has some food allergies. He can be passionate about helping other people with similar allergies because he feels the “pain” everyday that he tries to decide what to eat when he is hungry, yet knows that he can’t simply eat what everyone else does.
It’s hard to make money if your selection is so general. It’s not impossible, but by being more specific, you find people who are much more eager to talk with you . . . and let’s face it, if you don’t interact with people, you will not sell them things.
He did some research and found that people who had allergies to wheat and the gluten in grain, were going to the doctor all the time. If they unsuspectingly ate things that were not “gluten free”, they had a life-threatening reaction.
When they went out in the public to eat, they had as much problem as he faced when he was asked to a party or just an outing with friends. Oh, by the way, my son’s allergy is to foul . . . you know, chickens, turkeys or birds of all kinds. Just think of the number of food products that include chicken to help keep their cost down. This subject was much more specific.
People who suffer from an allergy to gluten
Now we have narrowed the subject down much more. This makes it easier to find products to sell that help people with this specific concern.
The length of a complete course on starting from scratch without investment money can be huge, I’m breaking the issues down into segments to answer her concerns. Please “like” my blog IF you have received some value from it.
